Egypt, a country linking northeast Africa with the Middle East, dates to the time of the pharaohs. Millennia-old monuments sit along the fertile Nile River Valley, including Giza’s colossal Pyramids and Great Sphinx as well as Luxor’s hieroglyph-lined Karnak Temple and Valley of the Kings tombs. The capital, Cairo, is home to Ottoman landmarks like Muhammad Ali Mosque and the Egyptian Museum, a trove of antiquities.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrive Cairo

Upon arrival in Cairo, get transferred to the hotel. Check in to the hotel and relax during the day. In the evening, watch the history of the ancient Egyptians unfold in the Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids of Giza. Overnight at the hotel in Cairo.

Day 2Cairo

After breakfast, visit the Great Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Egyptian Museum, Khan El Khalil Bazaar, once known as the Turkish bazaar during the Ottoman period, is now usually just called the “Khan”. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at the hotel in Cairo. (B)

Day 3Cairo – Aswan – Nile Cruise

After breakfast, you will be transferred from the hotel to the airport for your flight to Aswan. Arrive in Aswan and get transferred to the cruise terminal. Embark on the Nile Cruise and visit the High Dam, Unfinished Obelisk and Philae Temple. Overnight on the cruise. (B, L, D)

Day 4Nile Cruise

Visit the unique Kom Ombo temple which is dedicated to two Gods. The Temple of Kom Ombo is an unusual double temple built during the Ptolemaic dynasty in the Egyptian town of Kom Ombo. Sail onto Edfu and visit the mammoth temple of Horus. The temple includes a colossal statue of Horus as a falcon, which stands at the entrance to the main temple building. Overnight on the cruise. Day 5Nile Cruise

Today, visit East Bank of Luxor. You’ll see two of the most impressive temples in Upper Egypt – Karnak and Luxor. Overnight on the cruise. (B, L, D)

Day 6Nile Cruise– Luxor – Hurghada

After breakfast, disembark from the cruise and depart to Hurghada by coach. Check in to the hotel. Hurghada, known locally as Ghardaga, has grown from a small fishing village to an internationally renowned holiday resort town, famous for its underwater life, diving and snorkeling. Overnight at the hotel in Hurghada. (B)

Day 7Hurghada

Today your day is free at leisure. You can opt to take a snorkeling trip at Giftun Island. Swim with the dolphins before docking at Giftun Island for sports. In the evening, you have free time to enjoy the unique nightlife of Hurghada. Overnight at the hotel in Hurghada. (B)

Day 8Depart Hurghada

This morning you will be transferred to Hurghada airport to take your flight to Cairo Airport for your flight back home. (B)
